I Believe She Was Part Moon

From dusk to dark, through sight and smell,

this old fashioned garden shines by the light of the moon.

When our grandmothers carefully selected white flowers and silvery foliage

they knew it would glow and that its fragrance would be released

after a long hot summer’s day.

What emerges under a full moon is finally revealed.

And only when sitting out in the evening, with a view of the nocturnal sky,

do you realize it’s not a bad thing to be a little moonstruck.
